Build better teams

5 reasons obstacle events should be on your team building radar!

Team Building is usually the go to solution to help your staff work more effectively together. Unfortunately, it often conjures up thoughts of awkward flip chart handwriting, over-enthusiastic facilitators and soggy custard creams, all enjoyed in the confines of a dreary conference room. Here’s 5 reasons it’s time to enlist your team for the Born Survivor experience…

1
It’s Not An Ordinary Day Out

It’s important your people have the opportunity to learn more about their colleagues and themselves by doing something out of the ordinary; away from the workplace and on a day that doesn’t culminate in the dreaded group presentation.

2
It’s a true test of teamwork

Many businesses are turning to less conventional ways of inspiring successful teams, one of which is Born Survivor. Designed by members of the Royal Marines Commandos, Born Survivor is an established 10km event, where you and your colleagues must work together to complete over 30 military-inspired obstacles, each designed to test teamwork to the limit.

3
It’s challenging and inclusive

Every year, more than 5,000 people complete one of our Born Survivor events. For most, it’s not about performance, it’s about the challenge, teamwork, camaraderie, fun and the incredible sense of achievement they enjoy along the way. The interaction this engenders also means the team working journey starts months before and lasts far beyond the event itself.

4
The positive impact lasts

This is the key; it’s not just about the day out, it’s about the lasting, positive impact Born Survivor can have on your people. Barclays, ITV, Vodafone, Siemens, Mercedes Benz, Travis Perkins, First Direct, Tarmac and FGH Security have all reaped the benefits of taking part, with many other businesses, small and large, using Born Survivor as a memorable and effective team building experience for their staff.

5
